The CNC boring and lapping center Skipper 100 is a machine for high-quality, precise lapping of products made of laminated chipboard, MDF.
The machine is equipped with two working groups – bottom and top, with a total of 78 autonomous tool spindles.
The machine can perform simultaneous processing of two panels, both from the top and from the bottom within one work cycle.
Advantages & characteristics
Machining parts of all sizes without stopping
Mode of operation: one or two parts
Acts simultaneously from above and below, treating two panels at once, identical or mirrored
Instant setup. The machine changes the type of machining and provides maximum efficiency by machining a batch as well as a small series or even a single piece.
Quick and easy reconfiguration of work groups
Drilling heads are rigidly mounted on the machine bed – a guarantee of identical fitting of mirror parts for the entire service life
The L-shaped design of the loading and unloading zones makes the operator’s work area ergonomic and allows to manage the machine by himself. “The monolithic base of the machine is welded from thick sheet steel and has internal reinforcements that allow it to withstand the maximum stresses that can occur during machine operation. In order to achieve the highest machining accuracy in the subsequent operation of the machine the bed itself is machined in one setting
The Skipper can activate up to 78 tools in real time and achieve working speeds of up to 90 m/min with full safety, ensuring the highest level of productivity.
3.5 kW (4.8 hp) ELECTROSPINDER with HSK D-50 adapter
Key Features:
Power of 3.5 kW (4.8 hp) developed in the speed range from 12,000 to 15,000 rpm
Direction of rotation – right and left (dx/sx)
Speed of rotation – from 7.000 to 18.000 rpm, set by the commands of the digital control system
Designed for quick manual changing of cutting tools
The extending and retracting of the electrospindle is pneumatically driven along straight rails on endless ball-bearing sliders.
This option does not include the tool mandrel and elastic collet, and requires that the electrospindle be selected for the opposite work group.
Types of procedures
Addition of 2 parts at a time (with 6 optional)
Milling of 2 parts simultaneously
Cutting grooves simultaneously on 2 parts
The base system of the panels to be machined
The panels are positioned transversely when loaded on the two grippers, which are automatically preset on the left side when commanded by the digital control system. The independent positioning of the same grippers along the X-axis by the digital control system allows optimal distribution of panels of any length in this direction.
The two grippers that move the panels to be machined are themselves moved along the same heavy-duty tracks laid on the beam. Each of the grippers has two sliders on an endless ball bearing and the grippers are driven by a pinion-rack gear pair in which the pinion is double (patented technology) and the rack is high-precision with oblique teeth to compensate mechanical clearances.
Electromechanical drive FULL DIGITAL
All of the movement systems present in the machine’s axes are powered by brushless, digitally controlled motors, with direct communication with the actuators via high-speed buses.
X and Y axes
The movement of the panels to be machined in the X-Y plane in relation to the fixed cutting tools is realized by means of two grippers with independent movement along the X axis, mounted on a beam moving along the Y axis.
Z Axis
Each of the two working groups, the lower and upper, is moved in the Z-axis direction by driven worms consisting of hardened ground screws on an endless ball bearing and preloaded worms.
Electronic panel thickness tracking
The Z-axis precision of the cutting tool display during horizontal and vertical machining of panels – single or in pairs – is ensured by “reading” the real thickness of the panels being machined by a special high-precision sensor installed on the left grip.
Work modes
The Skipper has 4 working modes; you can switch to any cycle from another to work on top or bottom, or on top and bottom (on one part or on two parts one above the other). In addition to increased productivity and application flexibility, it greatly simplifies processes and gives new possibilities for design and furniture creation.
Lubrication system
The machine has an automatic centralized lubrication system that sends the appropriate portion of lubricant to all the straight rails of the machine and to all the endless ball screws at every defined time interval programmed into the CNC system.
